It’s easy to dismiss efforts such as the ornamental structures above as just an effort to hide an eyesore or to just “make something pretty”; but have you ever considered the impact efforts such as these have on our community’s economy? We don’t go to the store and buy ugly or broken items, nor do we pay top dollar for homes that are overgrown or need updating throughout- it’s the same for businesses as they decide where to call home, they want a city about which they can boast! Join us as we speak with Jack Murphy, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Wichita Falls and Margie Reese, Executive Director of the Wichita Falls Alliance for Arts and Culture, concerning the beautification efforts the city has in place and how they can benefit the growth of our community. (For instance, did you know that every tree planted TRIPLES in value to the community? We’ll talk about this and so much more!)
The Kemp has been developing the Virtual Tour programs with this being our third year. In conjunction with Region 9, KFDX, and our many talented artists we are able to bring you artistic tours through the use of technology directly to your classroom with your students participating interactively. They will have the opportunity to listen to an expert on many different topics and they will also be given a chance to ask questions in real time.
If you would like to join with us for future editions of our Virtual Tour program, please contact Christine Heidebrecht at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at 940.767.2787.
