In collaboration with the West College of Education at Midwestern State University and TAIR (Texas Association for the Improvement of Reading), Donalyn Miller, author of The Book Whisperer and Reading in the Wild, will present an all day session for educators of all levels. Donalyn Miller is a nationally known and critically acclaimed author and educator. She is known as "The Book Whisperer" for her insightful advice on what students like to read and how to foster independent reading. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
Please consider applying for The MSU TAIR Award for Special Projects. The purpose of this grant is to help a classroom teacher or researcher fund a special project (up to $1,000) that perpetuates, extends and/or investigates literacy. To be considered for this award you must attend this year’s conference, and winners are required to present their project at the following MSU TAIR conference. Depending on submissions received either: one $1,000 award to one recipient or two $500 awards to two recipients will be presented.
