TxCHSE (High School Equivalency) Classes

Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency Classes​

Region 9 Education Service Center Adult Education and Literacy Department provides preparation for the Texas Certificate of High School Equivalency (TxCHSE), formerly known as GED, classes. Our service area includes Cottle, Foard, Hardeman, Wilbarger, Baylor, Wichita, Archer, Young, Clay, Jack, and Montague counties. We have daytime and evening classes, if available, offered through the year at various instructional sites.

  • If you live in the urban area (Wichita County), you will need to do the following:
    • Make and attend a pre-registration appointment with an AEL Navigator
    • Attend a 3 day or night orientation at Region 9 Education Service Center
    • Attend an advising session with your class site literacy instructor which is held at the class site.

  • If you live in the rural areas (Cottle, Foard, Hardeman, Wilbarger, Baylor, Archer, Young, Clay, Jack and Montague), you will need to do the following:
    • Call and talk with an AEL Navigator to complete pre-registration forms
    • Attend a 2-night orientation at the designated class site location
    • Attend an advising session with your class site literacy instructor which is held at the class site
