Career and Technology Education (CTE) Technical Assistance Services

This program provides all school districts and charter schools with technical assistance for CTE programs in grades 7 through 12. CTE-related technical assistance is provided in the following areas:
- Implementing career clusters and Achieve Texas
- Linkages with secondary CTE and post-secondary CTE, including tech-prep programs
- Improving student performance in academic and technical knowledge and skills, including meeting the unique needs of special populations
- Promoting student enrollment in nontraditional courses
- Completion of the annual Perkins application
- CTE program compliance and accountability
- CTE program needs assessment, planning, and evaluation
- Coordination with various stakeholders to reduce duplication and increase effectiveness of CTE programs
- CTE Specialist serves as liaison between schools and the Texas Education Agency, institutions of higher education, and various government and youth agencies
