Education Specialist For Social Studies Helps Region 9 Teachers At All Grade Levels

My objective as the Region 9 education specialist for social studies is to assist teachers in the areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment. I serve as an information and training support center for all social studies activities throughout all grade levels. Special areas of focus include, but are not limited to, the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills and the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills. As an education specialist, I serve as a liaison between the Texas Education Agency and the school districts under the Region 9 service umbrella. The end result should be well-rounded students who can demonstrate adequate social studies knowledge both in school and in the real world.
