New Web Site Posting Requirements

for school district web pages

A district – if they have a web site – is required to post information regarding:

  • Employment opportunities (posted for 10 days before the vacancy is filled) and Employment policies (Texas Education Code §11.163)
  • Policies regarding (Texas Education Code §28.004)
    • Physical activity (if they have a policy) for elementary, middle and junior high students
    • Number of times the school health advisory council has met
    • Information on whether the district has adopted and enforces policies regarding vending machines
    • Information on whether the district has adopted and enforces policies that prescribe penalties for the use of tobacco products.
  • Electronic course information (if they offer them), along with other posting requirements related to the program (Texas Education Code §29.909)
    • No later than the 10th day after the first day of instruction:
  • Campus Report Card (Texas Education Code §39.252)
  • District Performance Report (Texas Education Code §39.252)
  • Accountability rating of district, including a definition of each rating (Texas Education Code §39.252)
  • Proposed district budget summary (Texas Education Code §44.0041)
  • Post notice of meetings (Government Code § 551.056)
  • Gross Payroll amount for the year
  • If a district publishes its check registers, it should be updated at least quarterly, and the register should include:
    • Name of Payee
    • Transaction Amount
    • Check Number
    • Date of the Check
    • Purpose or Function Number
    • Test Administration Dates including PSAT, ACT, and other college advanced placement tests for home schooled students information. (HB 1844)
  • Post in English and Spanish required immunizations and vaccines required or recommended by the Texas Department of State Health Services and health clinics in the district that offer influenza vaccine. (HB 1059)
  • Record of electrical, natural gas and water consumption (HB 3693)
  • M&O tax rate if it exceed the effective rate (Tax code 26.05b)
  • Notification for claimed copyright infringement (17 U.S.C. 512c)
