- Expedited graduate degree completion (11-week semesters)

Wayland Baptist University in Wichita Falls has adopted graduate
degree entry requirements that concur with the philosophy that
indicates the best predictor of future success is past success.
Effective August 1, 2007 the Graduate Record Examination is no
longer required for admission to graduate school. A three-point
grade point average (based on 4.0 scale) in the last 60 semester
hours of letter-graded college credit gains admission to any
graduate program. A lesser grade-point average requires a writing
criterion assessment and possibly an interview requirement for
determination of admissibility.
The Wichita Falls campus provides four, eleven-week semesters each
year with each course meeting one night per week for the eleven
weeks. A Master of Education degree may be completed with
attendance two nights per week over an 18-month period.
Master of Education degrees available in Wichita Falls include an
MEd leading to middle school or high school teacher certification,
an MEd in Educational Administration leading to principal
certification, and an MEd with specializations available in Human
Resources, Instructional Leadership, or Instructional
Technology.
Offered online through the Division of Education at the Plainview,
TX campus the MEd offers four specializations: two in professional
studies and two in certification. Each of these programs can be
completed in 18 months. Specializations include Instructional
Leadership and Higher Education from the professional studies area,
and Special Education and Principalship from the certification
program. These degrees are designed for students new to Wayland and
all courses required for the degrees are available online.
Information on these programs is available at www.wbu.edu or by
contacting either of the two local offices at 696-0404 (4110 Call
Field Road) or 855-4322 (building 402, Sheppard AFB).
