An Afternoon With The Arts

Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre

by Mike Campbell

February 26, 2008

A letter to Region 9 Educators from:
Patricia Thornton & Gari Boehm
Artistic Directors, Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre

On Thursday, May 15 2008, the Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre will present its An Afternoon With The Arts. For the past 15 years young audiences of 5,100 annually have filled the Memorial Auditorium for the Ballet Theatre’s An Afternoon With The Arts. The support of the Wichita Falls Independent School District and Region 9 was overwhelming. Such a wonderful exposure to the arts encourages young people to expand mentally, aesthetically and socially while increasing their appreciation of the arts.

The Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre will be hosting An Afternoon With The Arts, a performance especially designed for the youth of our area. They will be viewing original ballets created by choreographers Erin Murphy, Patricia Thornton and Gari Boehm exclusively for the dancers of the Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre.

As artistic directors of the Wichita Falls Ballet Theatre, we appreciate the work that educators are doing to help the future of our children be enriched and fulfilled. We are looking forward to presenting these free performances in the afternoon for you on Thursday, May 15, 2007 starting at 12:30 p.m. in the Memorial Auditorium. The show is approximately1 hour and 15 minutes in length. You should arrive 30 minutes before the performances.

In past years, performances have always been given to a fully attended theatre. Seating is on a first-come-first-serve basis.
