Distance Learning for 2008-09

At the end of the 2008 school year, over 300 students in Region 9 had completed classes from Vernon College, Midwestern State University, North Central Texas College, Ranger College as well as rigorous Spanish courses from Perrin-Whitt CISD. The 08-09 school year is shaping up to be even bigger and better.
This year David Blankenship will be the tour director responsible for finding the best virtual field trips available. He is currently working with the state wide initiative known as Connect 2 Texas. We hope to become a virtual field trip destination for many schools nation wide as well. Kim French will make sure that we all stay connected by scheduling our trips and classes as well as monitoring them to make sure we make the trip safe and sound.
Last year Petrolia High School's Valedictorian graduated with 30 hours of college credit. Petrolia has utilized the distance learning program for several years by providing opportunities for their students. This year they have agreed to share their expertise by offering several classes via the distance learning network. Jan Coquet, Spanish Instructor for Perrin-Whitt CISD is a seasoned veteran of teaching Spanish via the distance learning system. For the last 5 years she has taught students from all over Texas with great results.
