Media Department Phases out Video Tapes

Video Tapes at Region 9 are going the way of filmstrips and sixteen millimeter projectors. I can't even remember what the ditto machine smelled like anymore. However, for those of you that have a favorite video tape that you depend on every year, there is hope. From August through December it will be business as usual. The media vans will continue to make their weekly run to your school district.
Beginning in January of 2009, video tapes will be sent out permanently to campuses based on the usage reports through May of 2008. Then from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 25, 2009, all remaining videos will be given to Region 9 Educators on a first come first serve basis. The final giveaway will be Saturday, May 9, 2009 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.
Who knows, that favorite video tape of yours might be as valuable as the Dick and Jane first readers you through away years ago.
