Net9

The Net9 cooperative was created in 1996 for the purpose of providing dependable and affordable internet connectivity to the Region 9 schools. It has grown to include 38 school districts, as well as Midwestern State University, Vernon College, North Central Texas College, Ranger College and the Graham Learning Center. Net9 also provides connectivity to all major universities and all other Regional Service Centers through the TETN network.

As a partner in the Net9 cooperative, schools receive the following benefits:

Archived E Mail accounts
- According to the Texas State Library and Archives Commission’s retention schedule for records of public school districts, the following applies:
  
  The retention period for a record applies to the record regardless of the medium in which it is maintained. Some records listed in this schedule are maintained electronically in many offices, but electronically stored data used to create in any manner a record or the functional equivalent of a record as described in this schedule must be retained, along with the hardware and software necessary to access the data, for the retention period assigned to the record, unless backup copies of the data generated from electronic storage are retained in paper or on microfilm for the retention period.
