MSU's West College of Education

Providing a wide range of graduate programs in educational leadership, educational technology, counseling, special education, and curriculum and instruction

Just 100 miles west of the Metroplex, Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls offers an excellent education to over 6,000 students. The West College of Education at MSU prides itself on the close student-teacher relationships that are developed, even when the students are not on campus. We know our students personally and build a professional network that students can rely on years after graduation. Faculty members are easily accessible by email or phone and are always willing to assist students with academic questions as well as other issues or concerns. The West College of Education provides a wide range of graduate programs in educational leadership, educational technology, counseling, special education, and curriculum and instruction. All programs listed below are offered via on-line classes or ITV.

Programs 

Educational Leadership 

  • Master of Education in Educational Leadership With Principal Certification (39 hours) Principal certification only (for educators already holding a master’s degree)
  • Superintendent Certification (18 hours)

Educational Technology 

  • Master of Education in Educational Technology (36 hours) 

Education and Reading 

  • Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction With an Emphasis in a Content Area (36 hours) (allows high school teachers to teach dual credit classes)

Counseling, Kinesiology, and Special Education 

  • Master of Education in Training and Development (48 hours)
  • Master’s Degree in Special Education with Professional Certification as Educational Diagnostician (36 hours)
  • Diagnostician Certification only (for Educators already holding a Master’s Degree)
