Autism

The Autism program at Region 9 ESC provides staff development opportunities, information, and technical assistance for educators who work with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and their families.  The program provides support for educators, students and families in achieving academic success in a variety of school settings.

The focus of the state Autism Network is to raise knowledge and awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorders in Texas.  Leadership for the Network is provided through Region 2 ESC,  http://autism.esc2.net, in collaboration with the Texas Education Agency and the 20 Regional Education Service Centers.  One of the functions of the Autism Network is to provide information and resources to educators, individuals and families touched by Autism Spectrum Disorders.  The Network also sponsors the annual Texas State Conference on Autism, http://autism.esc2.net/conference.asp.
