Texas Regional Collaborative Teaching Excellence Award

Burkburnett Middle School teacher Sheri Booker won the Texas Regional Collaborative Teaching Excellence Award for Mathematics on June 27, 2012 at the 18th Annual meeting held in Austin, Texas.  The award, sponsored by El Paso Corporate Foundation, is given to a teacher who displays exceptional leadership and student support.  Sherri is a member of the Region 9 Math Collaborative and displayed her leadership qualities by presenting at the 2011 Region 9 TRC Math Collaborative Summer Institute, Region 9 Math/Science Conference, and at the 17th Annual TRC Conference in Austin, TX.  Brad Owen, Burkburnett’s Middle School principal, stated that Booker has a real passion for her job and a great desire to promote math and student engagement in the classroom.
