Title I, Part C Migrant Services
Services for the Title I, Part C Migrant funded districts include providing staff development and technical assistance regarding the implementation of effective Migrant Services Coordination. Staff development is also offered in the Seven Areas of focus, migrant service coordination, early childhood education, New Generation System, parental involvement, Identification and Recruitment, graduation enhancement, and secondary grade accrual. In addition, the program offers assistance in planning and presenting migrant parent training in the transfer of student documents and all other required training (in Spanish as needed) and technical assistance in the preparation of the annual performance report.
Identification and Recruitment of Migrant Children: This training is a federal requirement for all school districts in the state of Texas who receive Title I, Part C Migrant funds. The training is to be completed each year prior to September 1. It is for district personnel assigned to identify and recruit migrant children to the Migrant Program.
Migrant Cooperative
Member districts of this cooperative receive services for all required reporting and documentation through the New Generation System for data entry, including Certificates of Eligibility, secondary credits, health information, supplemental programs, enrollment and withdrawal of migrant students, and migrant student assessment data. Technical assistance is give to districts in documentation preparation for Performance Based Monitoring.
