Mrs. Addie Enlow, Art/Gifted & Talented teacher at Bowie Intermediate/Bowie ISD, has been named as the 2024 Region 9 Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Mrs. Courtney Bozeman, High School Math teacher at Newcastle School, Newcastle ISD, has been named as the 2024 Region 9 Secondary Teacher of the Year. The announcement was made at the Educator Recognition ceremony on August 2, 2023, at Region 9 Education Service Center at which all nominees from Region 9 districts were honored.

Vance Morris, Director of Learning & Development, Work Services Corporation, gave the keynote address which acknowledged the outstanding educators and the impact they have on the lives and futures of their students.

Thirty-four teacher nominees from 17 districts were honored at the event.
