  • This training introduced adult education to the system of the Workforce Solutions System. The objectives were to understand the one-stop system and the major components of the Workforce System and structure.

 

Setting the State for Achievement through Goal-Driven Learning January 2012

  • Objectives of the Goal Setting training: To recognize the requirements of student learning plans for all students (GED® and ESL), understand the goal setting process to transitions, and explore tools and goal setting activities using the Goal Setting Toolkit.

 

I-BEST Training “So, You Wanna Start an I-BEST Program?” August 2012

  • Integrated Basic Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) pairs English as a second language (ESL)/adult basic education (ABE) instructors and professional-technical instructors in the classroom to concurrently provide students with literacy education and workforce skills. It is designed to support basic education students to certificate and degree completion.

 

Texas Industry Specific English as a Second Language January 2011

  • TISESL responds to the needs of adults with limited English proficiency and to the needs of three industry sectors in which many adults seek entry level employment. Materials are based on principles of adult learning, employs a five step model for language development, and responds to the Texas Adult Education Content Standards and Benchmarks for ESL learners.

 

Orton-Gillingham Reading Institute: Teachers Teaching Teachers October 2009- November 2009

  • The Orton Gillingham approach is multi-sensory, kinesthetic, and phonics based. The Orton-Gillingham method has classically provided intensive rehabilitation in reading, spelling, writing, and reading comprehension.
