Specific technical assistance is provided by Region 9 ESC to its districts and campuses during the annual administration of the Texas Parent Involvement Survey. The data is used to document parent participation in the State Performance Plan. Specifically, Indicator 8 reports the percent of parents with a child receiving special education services that report school facilitated parent involvement as a means of improving services and results for children with disabilities.
Statewide support for educators and families is available via SpedTex, the Special Education Information Center. SpedTex provides information and resources that can help you understand your child’s/student’s disability, rights and responsibilities under IDEA, and facilitate collaboration that supports the development and delivery of services to children with disabilities in our State.
