Welcome to Adult Education and Literacy! All Region 9 ESC Adult Education and Literacy classes (ESL & HSE) will be transitioned to a virtual learning platform through Labor Day. In order to attend you will need to download Zoom Client for Meetings software to your desktop or Zoom Cloud Meetings to your mobile device from your App Store (Google Play or IPhone).

We will contact you to complete some initial paperwork and training before you enter our classes. Students are now required to have an email address (GMail) so make sure you have it and check it frequently.
The Adult Education and Literacy Program provides adults with sufficient basic education that enables them to effectively acquire the basic educational skills necessary for literate functioning; participate in job training and retraining programs; obtain and retain employment; and continue their education to at least the level of completion of secondary school and preparation for post-secondary education. We have many partners throughout our 11 counties of the North Texas Workforce Board and continually seek to build new partnerships to improve our services to communities and provide our classes at no cost to the students.

To support increases in employment, postsecondary education and training transition, skill gains, and secondary completion through demonstrated approaches that integrate system services and leverage community partnerships.
